As reported last week, Ludowici plans to move from Chapmanville and has purchased 11 acres in the park.
Ludowici's site is between W.Va. 817 and the Kanawha River.
Gary Walton, executive director of the Putnam County Development Authority, said the survey is being performed on about one acre.
"The remaining property purchased by the company has received archaeological clearance," he said.
According to a sign on Virginia Street East behind the Ramada Inn Downtown (the former Charleston House) the hotel's new sports-themed restaurant, Recovery Sports Grill, will open in October.
BBL Hospitality, the owner of the hotel, said last year the full-service restaurant will face Virginia Street East, will include outdoor dining, and will have entrances from the street and the hotel.
