NTelos offers 'Parental Control' application

NTelos Wireless announced it has launched a new custom application, "Parental Control," that offers parents with custom reports that show who is texting their children and a feature that alerts them when their child arrives safely at school or a friend's house.

In addition, a parent can use the location feature to locate their child's device at any time to determine where their child is located, the company said.

Conrad Hunter, chief operating officer at nTelos Wireless, said, "This app is perfect for parents who want their child to have a cell phone for convenience or emergencies, but also want to set boundaries on when and how they use their phone. Parents download the app to their child's phone, and then use a website to set the controls and features."

The Android application is available in the Google Play store to nTelos post-pay customers at $9.99 per month. An application with additional features is available for $14.99 a month. Ntelos said an Apple iPhone version of the application is in the works.

Tractor Supply Co. has obtained a building permit for a store at Quincy, the Kanawha County Commission announced.

Construction of the $1.6-million, 20,000-square-foot building will begin in the next few weeks with completion scheduled for late spring, the commission said.

Commission President Kent Carper said, "Quincy Coal is to be commended for their diligence in putting together a lease package that enticed Tractor Supply Co. to build in the eastern part of our county.

"This development will bring 25 to 30 much-needed new jobs to the eastern part of our county," Carper said.

Tractor Supply is the largest retail farm and ranch store chain in the United States. The company has 23 stores in West Virginia, including stores at Hurricane, Ripley, Spencer and Weston.
