The owners of Wisp Resort have asked a bankruptcy court judge to approve the sale of the property for $20.5 million to a real-estate investment trust headquartered in Kansas City, according to The Associated Press.
D.C. Development Limited Liability Co. asked for permission to sell the resort to a unit of Entertainment Properties Trust unless a higher bid emerges. The proposed deal will be the subject of a Dec. 4 court hearing, the wire service said.
According to Wisp's website, the resort's ice skating rink is scheduled to open Saturday and opening day for the winter ski season is scheduled Nov. 23, weather permitting.
Wisp is at McHenry, Md. It is Maryland's only ski resort.
