FLATWOODS, W.Va. -- The state Division of Highways is conducting a mandatory meeting for contractors interested in bidding on debris removal projects from Superstorm Sandy.
The meeting will be held Wednesday at the Days Inn in Flatwoods.
The contracts would be for the removal of downed trees, damaged roots and brush from Division of Highway rights-of-way.
Attendees of the meeting must be licensed contractors and meet Division of Highway specifications.
Bids will be received on Dec. 6.
Secretary of Transportation Paul Mattox has said the state's cost of cleaning up roads from the storm would reach $6 million.
The late October storm dumped more than 2 feet of snow in the highest elevations and left more than one-quarter million customers without power.
