Jackson Kelly announced it is expanding its ability to support the oil and gas industry by adding three attorneys to its Land and Natural Resource Development Practice Group.
Michael Jewell, Susan Anderson and Steven Nagy have joined the firm's office in Denver, Colo., where their practices center on issues associated with natural resource development, specifically as it relates to the acquisition of mineral interests and operations, the firm said.
"The addition of Jewell, Anderson and Nagy in the firm's Denver office will allow Jackson Kelly's nearly 50-member land and natural resource group to have additional means available to assist clients in the oil and gas industry who are developing the various shale deposits across the United States - specifically focusing on the Marcellus, Utica and now Niobrara Shale formations."
The Niobrara is a semi-new oil formation that is seeing many companies buying up land leases and acquiring acreage in Colorado and Wyoming.
Jackson Kelly is headquartered in Charleston. The firm also has offices in West Virginia at Clarksburg, Martinsburg, Morgantown and Wheeling. The Denver office opened in 1993. The firm also has offices in Washington, D.C.; Evansville and Indianapolis, Ind.; Lexington, Ky.; Canton, Ohio; and Pittsburgh.
