Educational Broadcasting Authority names Finn new director

The West Virginia Educational Broadcasting Authority named Scott Finn as its new executive director, effective Feb. 1, during a special meeting Thursday.

Finn is currently the news director for WUSF Public Media in Tampa, Fla. Prior to that, he served as news director for West Virginia Public Broadcasting. Finn also was a reporter for The Charleston Gazette and had served as executive director for APPALREAD/West Virginia Reads.

He has a Masters of Journalism degree from the University of Missouri and a bachelor's degree in sociology from Harvard University.

The EBA set the new executive director's salary as $80,000 annually.

Finn succeeds Dennis Adkins who is retiring this month.
