Warehousing firm acquires Ohio site

By From staff reports

Allied Logistics, a Huntington-based warehousing and logistics company, announced an affiliate had joined with two other firms to purchase the former Masco cabinet manufacturing facilities in Waverly, Ohio.

The 228-acre property contains 11 buildings with a total of 2.5 million square feet of space under roof. There is an on-site electrical substation and rail access to both CSX and Norfolk Southern. The property has more than 500 trailer spaces and 175 docks.

Cabinets were manufactured at the site until Masco closed in 2011, eliminating 1,400 jobs.

Waverly, Ohio, is south of Columbus, Ohio, about 117 miles from Charleston.

Allied Logistics' properties include warehouses in West Virginia at Huntington, Nitro, Poca, Parkersburg and Kenova and in Virginia at Waynesboro.
