  • Dan McGowan, Crystal Francisco and Lana Krieps have been promoted at Pioneer WV Federal Credit Union. McGowan, Pioneer's chief financial officer, has been promoted from senior vice president to executive vice president. Crystal Francisco has been promoted from compliance officer to vice president of compliance and training. Krieps has been promoted from eCard services manager to vice president of branch operations and e-channels.
  • Judy Conway has been promoted to assistant vice president and manager of First Sentry Bank's Lincoln County branch office in Hamlin. She has 32 years of experience in banking.


  • Jonathan Kott has been appointed communications director by U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va. Kott was communications director for Delaware Gov. Jack Markell's re-election campaign and for former New York Congressman Anthony Weiner and former Indiana Congressman Brad Ellsworth. Kott succeeds Emily Bittner, who left last month to become the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee's national press secretary and senior communications adviser.


  • Joseph Jenkins has joined Lewis Glasser Casey & Rollins to expand the firm's environmental practice and services. He was senior counsel for the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection. During the 2011 Legislative session he was counsel to the state Senate Committee on Energy, Industry and Mining and the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure. Jenkins has degrees in biology and geography from what is now Concord University and a law degree from the University of Oregon School of Law.


  • Adam Sypolt and Monique Sypolt have joined the creative and production departments of MotionMasters. Both earned bachelor's degrees in cinema and television from Regent University. Adam is a videographer and editor. While in the Tidewater area he was media director for a large faith-based organization and editor for a film production company. His original production, "Sleight," earned the 2010 Regent Showcase award for best film. Monique is an assistant producer. She apprenticed with Jerry Weintraub of Warner Bros. Studios in Los Angeles. She has worked as a graphics animator, producer and director on many shorts, commercials, training films and infomercials. She also is on-camera talent.
