Mold, other issues close building at Wood airport

WILLIAMSTOWN, W.Va. -- Mold and other issues have forced a Civil Air Patrol squadron out of its facility at the Mid-Ohio Valley Regional Airport.

Parkersburg Composite Squadron commander Maj. Sixto Velez says the squadron left the building last week following an inspection by Wood County engineer Bill Brown.

The Parkersburg News and Sentinel (http://bit.ly/11piz4e ) reports that the county plans to condemn the building after the squadron removes its equipment.

Brown says the building is uninhabitable due to structural, mold and mildew problems.

The squadron is using other space at the airport for its meetings.
