Charleston CVB seeking tourism nominations

CHARLESTON, W.Va. - The Charleston Convention & Visitors Bureau on Monday kicked off its inaugural Charleston Tourism People's Choice Awards.

Local residents and visitors are being asked to vote for their favorite restaurant, attraction, lodging, retail shop or boutique and event within Charleston city limits. Nominations for favorite specialty drink and food dish will also be accepted.

"Tourism is big business in the Charleston area and our industry partners deserve to be recognized for their hard work," CVB president Alisa Bailey said.

Nominations will be accepted at www.charlestonwv.com and www.Facebook/CharlestonWVCVB. Those who submit nominations will earn a chance to win a $50 Visa gift card.

The deadline for nominations is March 15.

Nominations will be narrowed to the top four from each category and then released for another round of voting. The final vote will begin April 15 and conclude April 26.
