University of Charleston to have open house for prospective MBA students

By From staff reports

The University of Charleston's School of Business is having an open house for college students interested in their full-time MBA program from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Equities House in downtown Charleston.

The open house is an opportunity for students to meet faculty, alumni and current students, take a tour of the school's facilities, engage in a typical classroom activity and learn more about the program structure and how the UC Master of Business Administration and Leadership (MBAL) program can help them reach their career goals.

Lunch will be provided.

Interested students are encouraged to register for the Open House by visiting http://www.ucwv.edu/Admissions/MBAL-Open-House.aspx

The MBAL program is designed specifically for students with limited or no professional work experience, or for those wishing to move into a professional career path. The program uses a problem-based approach in the classroom that emphasizes learning through the application of knowledge onto real-world business issues.

Professional practice rotations allow students to work with area companies to develop skills, and mentors from the business community work with you on goal setting, career strategy and professional development.

An international practicum immerses students in a business and cultural experience in a foreign country. Communication is emphasized throughout the program, strengthening their professional-level writing and speaking skills. Students are involved in all facets of their education by demonstrating the ability to solve problems, take initiative and be accountable for results.

The School of Business graduate programs are located on the second floor of The Equities House at 900 Virginia Street, East, and can be accessed from the third floor of the City parking garage on Dickinson Street.

Students interested learning more about the event can contact Fred Pauley at 304-357-4729 or email at fredpauley@ucwv.edu
