The Bridge Road Neighborhood Association will host a presentation on urban forestry at St. Matthews Church on Tuesday.
State forester Jesse Wise will present a program titled "Urban Forestry 101" to help educate residents on topics such as tree planting, pruning, mulching and topping.
It is the second forum on urban tree issues in as many months. The group's March meeting focused on ways homeowners and businesses could mitigate hazards and work with utility companies to keep lines clear.
The series was a response to damage caused by last year's powerful storms. Downed trees and branches caused significant damage to utility lines last year during the June 29 derecho and Superstorm Sandy.
The forum begins at 7 p.m. at the church on Norwood Road.
