The West Virginia Development office will host a free workshop in Bridgeport next month to educate nonprofit organizations and donors about the Neighborhood Investment Program.
The program allows qualified nonprofits to use state tax credits as an incentive to encourage donations.
After receiving approval from the program's advisory board, organizations are given tax credit vouchers to distribute to donors. Contributors then can use the credits to reduce their annual tax payments.
The workshop will be held June 5 at the Bridgeport Conference Center. The event will offer an overview of the program and guide attendees through the application process.
Organization representatives do not have to attend the workshop to apply for the program.
Those interested in attending are asked to pre-register with the state Development Office by May 29. To register, visit http://www.wvdo.org/NIPregistration or call 304-558-2234.
