CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Two natural gas industry associations will host a series of town hall meetings across North-Central West Virginia this summer.
Energize West Virginia with Natural Gas and America's Natural Gas Alliance announced Monday they will host three town hall-style meetings over the next three months.
The first meeting will be held Wednesday evening in Buckhannon.
During the meetings, officials will give an overview of the process of hydraulic fracturing of gas wells and detail industry efforts to protect groundwater during the drilling. A panel of industry experts will also be on hand to answer questions from the audience.
Wednesday's meeting will begin at the Mountain View Center on 2 Billingsley Drive, just off Brushy Fork Road, at 6 p.m. and last until approximately 7:30 p.m.
Additional town hall meetings will be held June 11 at the Stonewall Jackson Resort in Roanoke and July 25 at Doddridge City Park in West Union.
All three meetings are free and open to the public.
