A familiar north-central West Virginia face will be seen in the new Holiday Inn going up at the intersection of W.Va. 705 and Pineview Drive, Morgantown.
The Oliverio family will operate the hotel's restaurant, developers announced. The family has other restaurants in Morgantown and Bridgeport.
"We are looking forward to developing a restaurant concept for the hotel that will add to an already exciting project," Oliverio spokesman Tod Washburn said.
The Full Service Holiday Inn and Suites will have 182 rooms and will be located just behind a CVS Pharmacy that is under construction.
The dual development is part of an overall project by Mon Health System, which operates nearby Monongalia General Hospital and owns the land.
"We are very proud to be part of this hospital gateway improvement," Mon Health's president and CEO, Darryl Duncan, said. "We're proud to participate in the growth experienced in this part of our community."
In addition to the suites and restaurant, the hotel will have banquet rooms and some retail space, said Jeff Albrecht, of Hometown Development Co., the Ohio company that is overseeing the project.
Morgantown-based Petroplus-Lane LLC is doing the leasing for the project, Albrecht said.
Hometown Development operates Holiday Inns and has developed CVS pharmacies across Ohio and West Virginia, including ones in Star City and Sabraton.
