Charleston's East End and West Side Main Street programs are partnering with the West Virginia Development office to host a West Virginia Main Street/ON TRAC "Four Points in the Capital City" training conference in Charleston next week.
The event, which will be held Monday and Tuesday, is designed to help community organizers learn about the latest best practices, nonprofit funding techniques and revitalization resources
The West Virginia Development Office created the Main Street West Virginia program to foster economic development in historic downtown and neighborhood commercial districts.
ON TRAC was created by Main Street West Virginia to help communities boost economic growth with evaluation, education and networking resources. After participating in the ON TRAC program for two years, communities become eligible to apply for Main Street designation.
Monday's training will begin at 9 a.m. at the Charleston Woman's Club, located at 1600 Virginia Street East. Sessions will get underway Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. at the Kanawha Charleston Housing, located at 1809 Washington Street West.
The conference fee is $55 for Main Street West Virginia and ON TRAC members and $65 for nonmembers. For information about registration and the conference agenda, visit http://wvcommerce.org/fourpoints.
