Ten of 106 candidates pass CPA exam
CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Ten of the 106 candidates who sat for the January-February certified public account examination were successful in completing all parts of the examination, according to the West Virginia Board of Accountancy.
The candidates were examined in the sections of auditing and attestation, business environment and concepts, financial accounting and reporting and regulation.
Candidates are required to make a grade of not less than 75 in each subject before being declared as passing by the examination.
Fourteen of the 106 candidates sat for the first time, while 92 were re-examinees. The successful candidates were: Sharon Ahrens of Hedgesville; Krista Bratton, Kristi Childress and Jessica Hughes of Charleston; Alex Gawthrop and Tiffany Gooderham of Huntington; Timi Painter of South Charleston; Hannah Parrack of Pt. Pleasant; Jeffrey Prior of Oak Hill and Ashley Smith of Bridgeport.
