AARP to hold job search seminar
Unemployed Kanawha Valley residents 50 and older are invited to attend a "Back to Work 50 Plus Information Session" hosted by AARP.
The event is set for 10 to 11:30 a.m. July 2 at Goodwill Industries, 215 Virginia St. W. in Charleston. The session includes job search strategies, a list of local resources, and options for local skills training.
While the session is free, seating is limited and reservations are required. For more information, call AARP Foundation at 1-855-850-2525 and select "Back to Work 50 Plus" on the automated menu.
AARP spokesman Tom Hunter said that while this seminar is geared primarily toward those who have been out of the workforce for a while and need help to update skills or resumes, any 50-plus individual looking to explore job opportunities in the Kanawha Valley is welcome.
The AARP Foundation hosted its first "Back To Work 50 Plus" seminar earlier this month in South Charleston.
