Morgan County hotel, spa to be sold at auction
BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. -- A hotel and spa in Morgan County is going on the auction block.
The 65-room Country Inn in Berkeley Springs is scheduled to be sold to the highest bidder during a foreclosure auction on Aug. 28.
The Country Inn's owner, 5042 Holdings Limited, closed the hotel May 5. Court records show that two days later, a federal bankruptcy judge approved the company's motion to convert its Chapter 11 bankruptcy case to Chapter 7.
Matt Hurley of Hurley Auctions tells The Journal (http://bit.ly/19hah17 ) that the auction has been listed on only a couple of websites and hasn't been officially advertised. But he's already receiving calls about it.
The hotel was built in 1932 and originally was called the Park View Inn.
