CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Improving education in West Virginia will be a key focus at the state Chamber of Commerce's annual business summit later this month.
The event is set for Aug. 28-30 at The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs.
Chamber President Steve Roberts says that there's been some improvement in public education but much more needs to be done.
Among the featured speakers will be Elliot Washor, co-founder of the nonprofit group Big Picture Learning.
West Liberty University President Robin Capehart will lead a panel discussion on transforming the state's education system.
A separate panel discussion will focus on the role of technology in education, economic development and job creation. State Senate President Jeff Kessler will lead that group.
