WVU's annual economic outlook conference set for Oct. 1
Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond economist Andy Bauer will be a guest speaker at the West Virginia University Bureau for Business and Economic Research's 2014 West Virginia Economic Outlook Conference, being held Oct. 1 at the Embassy Suites in Charleston.
The annual event is designed to give state business and political leaders expert insight and information on national and state economic trends over the coming year.
Bauer will provide an overview of the national economic forecast for 2014, while WVU Bureau of Business and Economic Research director John Deskins will present the school's state-level economic forecast.
The school is also planning to host a panel with state business and industry leaders to discuss implications of the forecast.
Registration is required for the one-day event, at a cost of $55 for the general public and $20 for students. The registration deadline is Sept. 25.
The converence will be followed by a three-hour Business Startup and Growth Workshop, conducted by the WVU BrickStreet Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The seminar will feature business and banking experts focusing on strategy, funding, and operations for new and emerging business.
The business startup seminar costs $50, but Economic Outlook Conference attendees will receive a $25 discount.
