Mountaineer Gas Co. on Tuesday said it has launched a new service designed to allow its customers to receive bills and manage their accounts online or on their smartphone.
The company announced it has launched on Doxo, a cloud-based digital filing cabinet service that allows businesses to interact with customers and receive payments without using paper statements.
By using the service, customers will be able to receive statements, organize account documents and make payments using their iPhone or Android smartphone, or by visiting the Mountaineer Gas Doxo website.
To access the service, customers will need to set up a free Doxo account, which can created by visiting www.MountaineerGasOnline.com, www.doxo.com/mountaineergas, or by using the Doxo app on their phone.
Mountaineer Gas has allowed customers to pay their bills online for several years, but the new service will allow customers to manage their accounts in a completely paperless fashion.
"Doxo's online and mobile app provides our customers control and flexibility in how they interact with us," said Gary Barnard, customer services manager at Mountaineer Gas.
The company had already allowed customers to sign up for the service, prior to the Tuesday announcement. Barnard said feedback from those who have signed up has been "overwhelmingly positive."
"The adoption growth of Doxo has been more than tenfold of anything we've seen previously," he said.
Headquartered in Seattle, Doxo is backed by several venture capital firms, including one managed by Amazon.com founder Jeff Bezos.
