CHARLESTON, W.Va.--The Charleston Convention and Visitors Bureau was recently named 2013 CVB of the Year among organizations with less than a $2 million budget by the Southeast Tourism Society.
The society also gave the Charleston bureau's president and CEO Alisa Bailey its annual Chairman of the Board Award
The CVB of the Year award is given to destinations that demonstrate accomplishments through effective tourism marketing, including advertising, promotions and public relations.
The Chairman of the Board award winner is selected solely by the society's current board chairman and is given to an individual that has been a significant asset and made the greatest contributions during the previous year.
Bailey said she and her team were elated for the recognition."We have been working hard to bring our organization to the highest of industry standards in our sales and marketing efforts, and this award is a testament to that end," she said.
