The U.S. Small Business Administration is planning a series of workshops to educate West Virginia small businesses about aspects of the Affordable Care Act.
The SBA's West Virginia District Office will hold two seminars and an online webinar during the first week of December to provide training and answer business owners' questions about the federal health care law.
During the events, Economic Development Specialist Kimberly Donahue will provide an overview of plans available in the state, where to turn for help, how to purchase plans and what business owners will need to get started.
The first seminar will be 5:45 to 7 p.m. Dec. 3 at the West Virginia State University Economic Development Center. Joseph Deacon of Deacon and Deacon Insurance and Robin Lester of Maximus will also be on hand at the Charleston event to offer further assistance.
The second workshop will be 5:45 to 7 p.m. Dec. 5 in Huntington at Unlimited Futures, located at 1650 8th Ave. Lester and Kevin Heath of Main Street Insurance will be on hand to provide assistance.
Business owners and representatives who cannot attend either seminar in person can participate in an online webinar from 2 to 2:45 p.m. Dec. 5.
The Charleston and Huntington workshops and the online webinar are all free, though attendees are asked to register online at charleston.score.org prior to attending the events.
