Stephen Brooks, an attorney at Flaherty Sensabaugh Bonasso PLLC, has been elected chairman of the board of directors at MVB Financial Corp., parent company of MVB Bank.
David Alvarez, president of MEC Construction and a member of the West Virginia University Board of Governors, has also been elected as the board's vice chairman.
Brooks succeeds long-time chairman James "Dick" Martin, who is retiring from the board. Louis Spatafore and Berniece Collis also recently announced their retirement from the board.
Stefano DiPietrantonio has joined the WCHS and WVAH-TV Eyewitness News team as an anchor with the Charleston stations.
A Wheeling native and graduate of West Virginia University with 25 years of broadcast experience, DiPietrantonio joins the station from Fox affiliate WTVT in Tampa, Fla., where he was a reporter.
Meteorologist Kelly Ann
Cicalese has joined the WSAZ NewsChannel 3 First Warning Weather team.
Cicalese earned a bachelor's degree in meteorology from Rutgers University. She comes to WSAZ from KGWN-TV CBS 5 News in Cheyenne, Wyo. She had previously worked as an intern for WWOR-TV in Secaucus, N.J.
Dr. Viorel Raducan, a fellowship-trained pediatric orthopedic surgeon, has joined the medical staffs at the Hoops Family Children's Hospital at Cabell Huntington Hospital and Marshall Orthopaedics.
Dr. Raducan specializes in scoliosis and general orthopedic injuries and is an experienced surgeon providing care for children. He earned his medical degree at Montreal University in Montreal, Quebec, and completed fellowship training in pediatric orthopedics at Brown University, in pediatric spine surgery and scoliosis at McMaster University Medical Center in Hamilton, Ontario, and in adult spine surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center at Harvard Medical School.
Greg Elliot and Jay Stevens IV were elected to the board of directors of the Charleston Area Alliance on Dec. 17.
Elliot serves as the director of information technology for American Medical Facilities Management, LLC. He is also the general manager of Capitol Conference Center, a multipurpose conference and meeting center.
Stevens is the manager of Shonk Land Company LLC, a family owned multi-generational company with deep roots in Charleston and the Kanawha Valley.
Elliot and Stevens replace outgoing members Steve Lemmerman of the Charleston Marriott and John Calvert of Boomer Solutions.
Eight individuals were also re-elected to new three-year terms on the board: Maribeth Anderson of Chesapeake Energy, Patrick Bond of Mountaineer Capital, Stephen Dexter of Thomas Health System, Georgette George of Monarch Holdings, Lois Gillenwater of Pray Construction, Charles Loeb of Jackson Kelly PLLC, Thomas Provos of Kureha PGA LLC and Sally Smith of Bowles Rice.
Also at the meeting, Mike Basile of Spilman Thomas & Battle was elected as vice chair of the board, Diana Sole Walko of MotionMasters was elected secretary and Mark Bias of BB&T was elected treasurer.
