MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — A union representing more than 900 workers at WVU Hospitals has suspended contract negotiations.
Local 814 of the Laborers' International Union of North America said Wednesday it suspended discussions following a dispute with the hospital over how it accounts and pays for certain work hours.
WBOY-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1bUBsLr ) that the union says it is willing to negotiate in good faith but it isn't willing to have its employment or employment status harmed.
The parties had agreed to extend its current contract through Jan. 31 while negotiations continued on a new three-year contract. Negotiations resumed Monday.
The union represents a broad range of jobs at WVU Hospitals.
