Hino Trucks and Penske Truck Leasing recently celebrated the delivery of the 10,000th Hino truck purchased for the Pennsylvania-based vehicle truck rental company.
Executives and workers from both companies celebrated the event during a ceremony at Hino's assembly plant in Williamstown.
Yoshinori Noguchi, Hino's president and CEO, said Penske purchased its first Hino model 268 truck in 2004. The 10,000th truck, which will be a part of Penske's commercial rental fleet, is a newer model 268A.
"Hino continues to be a trusted supplier of high-quality trucks within our truck leasing and truck rental fleets," said Roger Penske, chairman of Penske Truck Leasing. "We are pleased with the performance of these vehicles and the outstanding support Hino provides."
The 268A is part of Hino's class 6 & 7 conventional truck line up. Hino markets the line as specifically well suited for the lease and rental market segment, where Hino now holds a 10 percent market share.
