Students at the West Virginia Division of Culture and History can learn to make a split-bottom woven stool in a workshop from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 12. Instructor Joyce Cain of Tanner will offer the workshop at the Cultural Center.
The stools are pre-sanded white oak, finished in a clear varnish. Participants will weave a herringbone pattern for the seat with one-half inch reed.
There is a $20 fee and an additional materials fee that is paid directly to Cain. Class size is limited to 15 participants, and registration is required.
