Exhibit depicts real-life places held dear by artist
Susan Poffenbarger spent about 18 months completing the 15 paintings and pastel drawings that comprise her new solo exhibit at The Art Store. The Charleston artist said she was particularly inspired by water and waterfalls -- the pastel on paper piece beside her is entitled "Fall Flow."
"Front Yard" is acrylic on linen and is the scene from Poffenbarger's home along the Kanawha River in Dunbar. She and her husband, John, have since sold the house and moved to a downtown Charleston apartment.
