Sacred Crossroads will sponsor Witchy Weekend Saturday and Sunday at Unitarian Universalist Congregagtion, 520 Kanawha Blvd. W., Charleston.
Activities get under way with the Psychic Fair from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday. Local psychics and healers offer their services for 10 to 15 sessions for $10. There will also be mini seminars, craft and food vendors.
An invocation with drum accompaniment is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. and guests are invited to bring their own drums. Festivities continue at 7 p.m. with the annual Witches' Ball with live music, a disc jockey and costume prizes.
Admission is $5 for those not in costume or $3 for those who dress up. All proceeds benefit the Unitarian Universalist Congregation.
A ceremony observing Samhain - a Gaelic festival marking the end of the harvest year and the beginning of winter - will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Preparations for the ritual begin at 6:30 p.m. Participants are asked to bring non-perishable food for the Covenant House food pantry. Guests are asked to bring a dish for a shared feast following the ceremony.
