Steve Lilly, who divides his time between Waynesboro, Va., and Hinton, crafts rings from silver coins using a method his dad, V.E. Lilly, taught him. The two sell the rings at fairs and festivals and at Tamarack.
The rings are finished by filing the edges to smooth them. Lilly uses silver quarters and half dollars minted before 1965 - 1964 was the last year all-silver coins were minted for general circulation.
