Country music superstar Kenny Chesney will headline The Greenbrier Classic concert series this year.
The Greenbrier Classic tweeted the announcement Thursday.
"I'm just really tickled that we got Kenny Chesney for the 4th of July," Greenbrier owner Jim Justice stated in a story posted by The Register-Herald of Beckley.
Justice noted, "We're also going to do a spectacular celebratory fireworks show that will be even better than last year's, and everybody is welcome to our 4th of July parade at The Greenbrier."
Chesney is a CMT and AMA Artist of the Year, a four-time CMA Entertainer of the Year and a four-time ACM Entertainer of the Year.
He will start the "No Shoes Nation" tour March 16. His Greenbrier concert will be between announced tour stops in Columbus, Ohio's Crew Stadium June 29 and the Cavendish Beach Music Festival on Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, July 6.
Justice said in the Register-Herald story that his team has contacted other entertainers, including Lady Gaga, Madonna, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber and Bruce Springsteen.
He indicated that Lady Gaga and Madonna are both "off the table" at this point but one of the entertainers remains a possibility.
