In disc golf, players throw weighted discs into mounted metal baskets. A nine-hole course at Little Creek Park was installed in 2009. The upcoming event will include these permanent baskets as well as an additional nine temporary ones.
Two 18-hole rounds will be played, including singles in the morning and doubles in the afternoon. Lunch will be served. There will also be some fun prizes and random drawings. The first 40 people to register will be given discs.
Cold weather is part of the experience and everyone has a good time, Zellers said.
It is also good exercise, especially when the terrain is hilly, he said.
"Playing disc golf is like taking a walk in the woods while playing a game," he said.
