Anderson estimates between 5,000 and 8,000 people will attend the parade this year.
"We are one of the longest running armed forces parades in America. Only two other states are ahead of us -- so we're third in supporting the military," Anderson said. "It's going to be great. We've had a lot of famous people here over the years, including Chuck Yeager twice, and now we'll have Wayne Newton out here to support the military."
The Armed Forces Day Parade will be held at noon on May 18 on D Street. It will begin on 1st Avenue and finish at 7th Avenue.
