"We owe so much of our success to the people of this region that we wanted to once again bring tribute to the two Virginias," Justice said. "We hope that this new discounted price will enable as many as possible to enjoy the wonderful Greenbrier Classic and the all-time greatest American rock 'n' roll band."
The tournament is offering a refund to those who have already purchased badges at the $199 price.
Badge holders can call 888-598-7380 to receive either a $40 cash refund or $40 voucher that can be used to purchase items at either the golf tournament or at the shops inside The Greenbrier.
Local officials say they are gearing up for this year's event.
Last year, the tournament was overshadowed by the June 29 derecho and the relief efforts that followed.
Greenbrier County Convention and Visitor's Bureau executive director Kara Dense said the area was able to bounce back and put on the tournament last year, and she hopes this year's tournament will be an even bigger success.
"I think it's going to be a great year," Dense said. "Last year we had that little snafu with the storm and it still turned out to be a great tournament."
Dense said she knows most people come to the tournament for the golf, but her goal is to encourage people to visit other local attractions when golf isn't being played.
"We'll be there on site with visitor information and talking to folks and encouraging them to come back and see us," she said.
"Our main objective is for people to enjoy themselves and get out and enjoy the golf tournament and the rest of the area," Dense said. "But if they don't have time, we certainly want to educate them on all we have to offer and hopefully see them back again later in the year."
