West Virginia soldier and artist Todd Harrell will showcase his exhibit on the people of Afghanistan during tonight's ArtWalk.
Harrell will attend a reception from 5 to 8 p.m. at Romano and Associates, 230 Capitol St. Suite 200.
The exhibit documents Harrell's decade of visits to the war-torn country, during which time he captured more than 20,000 images. The photos present a people and culture, steeped in tradition, while struggling with progress bringing them into the 21st century.
The exhibit features more than 30 images and a slideshow. A large portion of sales will benefit the Afghanistan Relief Organization, a non-political, secular non-profit humanitarian organization. The group focuses on delivering relief aid directly into the hands of the needy throughout Afghanistan and offers general education programs.
The reception is free and open to the public. For more information, call Naomi Bays at 304-395-5455 or email Na...@artskv.org.
