FYI: Artist JP Owens' colorful works will be on exhibit at The Art Emporium.
By day, JP Owens thinks in black and white and numbers.
At home, when his busy day as regional manager for City National Bank ends, Owens is all about color and abstract images of animals and spaceships. That is, when he's not managing his real estate company and wrangling two young sons with his wife.
An upcoming exhibit kicks him into high gear, as it has in recent weeks as Owens prepared first for the FestivALL art show and then for tonight's ArtWalk, where his work will be on exhibit at The Art Emporium.
"Usually, it's driven by shows," he said of his schedule to complete art. Other times, he just knows he needs to put idea to paper or canvas.
"Eventually your sketchbook gets full and your mind gets cluttered," he said.
His bright paintings, digital images, collages and most recently, decorative furniture, have been compared to local artists Charley Hamilton and Ian Bode.
