Hilary Kadoya was just 3 years old when her parents figured gymnastics and dance would be a good outlet for her energy.
The native of California competed through her early childhood days and by high school was part of a dance team. In college, she majored in dance at worked at Disneyland, which would be the start of her career.
Kadoya now is on her third tour with Disney Junior Live On Tour, this one based on two Disney Junior series, "Sofia the First" and "Jake and the Neverland Pirates."
The show makes a stop at the Civic Center Saturday with two performances at 3 and 6 p.m.
"You're getting two shows for the price of one," Kadoya said. "The first act is nothing but 'Sofia the First' and the second is 'Jake and the Neverland Pirates.' "
Sofia learns lessons about princess etiquette and Kadoya has two roles in that part - she's a maid and a giant cake.
In the second half Kadoya takes on a different role, this time as a puppeteer. The Neverland pirates encounter evil Captain Hook and his men and Kadoya plays the pirate Scully.
"That was really fun to learn - it's a really cool change of pace," she said.
