If Ryan Cain & The Ables were able to perform in black and white Friday night at Haddad Riverfront Park, it would complete the picture this band paints of a trip back in time.
Greased-back hair, sideburns and vintage clothing combine with old instruments, tube-type amplifiers and chrome microphones as Cain and his band mates perform a high-energy rockabilly show that's a blend of original music and an homage to the pioneers of rock.
Cain says he grew up with the music of Jerry Lee Lewis, Eddie Cochran, Buddy Holly, Elvis Presley and Gene Vincent.
"My dad was a greaser. It's basically the soundtrack to my life," he said. "I never really had a taste for another style of music."
