By From staff reports

The Kanawha County Public Library system welcomes award-winning documentary storyteller Elaine McMillion for several discussions of her film, "Hollow."

The first discussion will take place at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Main Library. It will be followed by two more discussions Thursday at the Riverside branch at 10 a.m. and St. Albans at 6 p.m.

McMillion created an interactive documentary and community participatory project that examines the future of rural America through the eyes and voices of those living in McDowell County. Some McDowell residents, including bluegrass musician Alan Johnston, will also attend the screening.

"Hollow" is funded by Kickstarter, Tribeca Film Institute's New Media Grant and the West Virginia Humanities Council. It is supported by Documentary Educational Resources and the West Virginia Filmmakers Guild.
