An exhibition of three female artists opens at The Art Store in Charleston with an evening reception from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
The show, "Jennings, Starcher, Haien," features paintings and photographs that use narrative as a central aspect. Caroline Jennings creates multi-scenic spaces with stylized figures, using ordinary objects to symbolize the grander themes of life, death and the passage of time. Maggie Starcher's paintings feature dreamy scenes in which figures and architectural forms intermingle with lush plant life. Gretchen Haien's simply composed photographs round out the exhibition.
The exhibit will run through Nov. 15. For more information, contact 304-345-1038 or visit www.theartstorewv.com.
