CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The Clay Center's Spring 2014 season includes a visit by the legendary Crosby, Stills & Nash, a blues show featuring a lineup with Buddy Guy, Dweezil Zappa, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Billy Cox and a non-musical appearance by fitness guru Jillian Michaels.
The lineup was announced at a press conference Tuesday in the Clay Center's Walker Theater.
The spring season kicks off March 7 with folk rockers Crosby, Stills & Nash and Rob Rosano, the director of theater and sales, said the concert is almost certain to be a sellout.
The best way to secure tickets, he suggested, is to buy a season ticket package, which are available now. Single tickets will go on sale at the end of January.
The season schedule includes:
March 16 – Jillian Michaels: Maximize Your Life – this co-presentation with Jam Theatricals features a motivational presentation by the fitness guru who first made a name for herself as a coach on TV's "The Biggest Loser."
March 19 – Experience Hendrix, a blues show featuring Buddy Guy, Jonny Lang, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and more.
March 23 – the Punch Brothers, with former Nickel Creek frontman Chris Thile.
April 3 – Ballroom with a Twist. The show features finalists from "Dancing with the Starts," "American Idol" and "So you Think You Can Dance?"
April 30 --- Boyz II Men, the R&B group with hits that include "Motownphilly" and "I'll Make Love to You."
May 9 – MercyMe, the contemporary Christian group best known for songs such as "I Can Only Imagine" and "Word of God Speak."
May 15 – Big Bad VooDoo Daddy, bringing a sound of the roaring 1920s and touring in support of its newest CD, "Rattle Them Bones."
Season subscriptions start at $95 and are on sale now. Current season ticket holders have until 5 p.m. Dec. 22 to renew and receive seating priority. Single tickets go on sale Jan. 25.
