CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The Greenbrier has announced a long list of celebrities who will be on hand for the grand opening of the resort's new $80 million underground casino July 2.
Owner Jim Justice said the list includes Charleston native and actress Jennifer Garner and her husband actor Ben Affleck.
But the list of entertainers and sports figures also includes: actress and West Virginian Ann Magnuson, famed interior designer Carleton Varney, Greenbrier Golf Professional Emeritus Tom Watson, golf legends Jack Nicklaus and Lee Trevino, actresses Jessica Simpson, Jane Seymour, Debbie Reynolds, Phyllis George, Raquel Welch, Brooke Shields, Christina Ebersole, actor Elliot Gould, boxing announcer Michael Buffer and basketball star Shaquille O'Neal.
Justice said more celebrities will be added to that list.
Justice said, "With the launch of the Casino Club and The Greenbrier Classic, which starts on July 26, we have a very exciting month planned, and the world will certainly know that we are back and better than ever."
Entertainer Lionel Ritchie will lead off the grand opening festivities with an intimate concert. A red-carpet entrance for guests, a ribbon cutting ceremony preceded by a trumpet fanfare and black dinner are included.
Reservations for the opening night only event are $850 per person, which includes $300 in game vouchers. Accommodations packages at $1,200 per person are sold out, but reservations can be made at The Resort at Glade Springs and transportation to The Greenbrier will be provided.
