Fire crews battled a blaze at an apartment building on Charleston's West Side this morning.
The fire was reported at about 7:45 a.m. at 210 1/2 Glen Street.
Black smoke was visible all around the building and the flames took over quickly, according to Metro 911 dispatches.
It is not clear how many people were inside when the fire began, but Metro 911 dispatchers report one person was taken to Charleston Area Medical Center's General Hospital. Dispatchers did not yet know how badly the victim was hurt.
