CHARLESTON, W.Va. - A longtime employee of the state Regional Jail Authority was named chief of operations.
Carl Aldridge, who has nearly 20 years of experience, was appointed to the post Monday, according to a news release issued by the authority.
Aldridge started with the authority in June 1993 as a correctional officer at South Central Regional Jail in Kanawha County.
He rose through the ranks and was promoted to corporal in 1995 and sergeant in 2001. Aldridge was transferred to Western Regional Jail in Cabell County where he was promoted to first sergeant in 2003 and lieutenant in 2007.
He was at Western when he was named chief of operations.
Aldridge will begin his duties by mid-September.
