Work under way at South Charleston's Gestamp auto parts plant
CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Gestamp employees at the South Charleston stamping plant make automotive underbody parts. The company started small-scale production three weeks ago on its cold-stamp lines, according to the West Virginia Department of Commerce. The plant currently has 42 employees. Gestamp expects that number to grow to 60 by the end of the month and to reach 100 to 120 by the end of the year, the department said.
