SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - West Virginia's deer, bear and wild boar archery seasons are set to open.
The state Division of Natural Resources says the 2012 archery seasons for deer and bear open Saturday, while the wild boar archery season is set to open Oct. 13.
Officials say that while the wild boar and traditional deer archery seasons are about the same as last year, the bear archery season is starting earlier and closing later.
And in addition to the earlier opening date, the bear archery season is being split into seasons that run from Saturday until Nov. 17 and Dec. 3 through Dec. 31.
