DAWES, W.Va. -- All rail crossings are open again in Kanawha County after a train derailment of coal cars.
The 10 cars derailed at 9:22 a.m. Tuesday in Dawes. The cars' wheels left the tracks but none overturned and no one was injured.
Railroad crews closed four crossings until about 4:30 p.m. Dispatchers warned drivers of heavy equipment near the crossings.
Students at other Kanawha County schools who live along Cabin Creek were to be taken to Sharon Dawes Elementary, where they were to stay until parents picked them up, according to Metro 911.
