City Manager Carlton Lee is spearheading the project. Mullens said Lee has some estimates, but it is hard to say for sure what the remodeling will cost because it is common when working on old buildings to run into unforeseen issues. Mullens said some insurance money received because of the derecho damage would be used.
"We're excited about it," Mullens said of the remodeling. "I think when it's done it will be a nice dual-purpose facility."

Kevin DiGregorio, executive director of the Chemical Alliance Zone, will be the guest speaker at the Jan. 15 Union Carbide Oldtimer's Club dinner meeting in the Columbia Gas Cafeteria.

The 2013 West Virginia International Auto Show will begin Jan. 24 with an invitation-only, black-tie charity gala on the show floor of the Charleston Civic Center.
As in past years, gala proceeds will benefit HospiceCare.
The show will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 25 and Saturday, Jan. 26 and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 27.
