Morgantown city manager resigning for job in Ga.

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- Morgantown City Manager Terrence Moore is resigning Feb. 1 to begin preparing for a new job as city manager of College Park, Ga.

Moore made the announcement Monday afternoon.

Morgantown is one of West Virginia's largest cities, with more than 30,000 residents. It's also home to the state's biggest school, West Virginia University.

College Park has a council-manager form of government like Morgantown's, with a city work force of about 500 employees and an annual operating budget of $115 million.

Moore came to Morgantown in 2010 after a five-year stint as city manager of Las Cruces, N.M.

He'd held a similar post in Sebastian, Fla., from 1999 to 2005.
